It seems you’ve just launched your project on the Product Hunt and now looking for some post-launch strategies to reach out to your upvoters on Twitter.
Well, Product Hunt doesn’t let you see the list of all the people who upvoted your product. 😩
But… there’s a way that you can take advantage of.
You can extract the whole list of upvoters’ Twitter profiles (if available), in 2 minutes.
Let me explain how to do that:
Extract Product Hunt upvoters list
For this, you will need a free tool called Download Product Hunt Upvoters. And, to set this up, you will need 2 things:
- Dev Token
- Product URL
If you’re not a developer then you might have some problems finding the developer token, but let me make the process easier by providing you with the step-to-step guide.
Step 1: Get the Dev Token
Here’s how to find the Dev Token:
First, go to the Product Hunt API dashboard and click on the Add an Application button.
Now, put the following details in the appeared fields and click on the Create Application button:
Name: <Any Name>
Redirect URI: https://localhost
You will be presented with the API Key and API Secret but those are of no use in our case. You need to click on the Create Token button.
And, as soon as you click on the button, the Dev Token will appear. Copy and save it somewhere to use in the future.
Step 2: Download the Upvoters List
Now, open the app and paste the Dev Token (that you copied in the first step) in the first field. And, the product URL in the second field.
Product URL looks like this:
Click on the Submit button and now, a list of all the upvoters (who have Twitter profiles) will appear on the screen.
Copy and paste the list in a spreadsheet (MS Excel, Google Sheets, or others) and you’re good to go.
Hack: By using the trick you can not only find who upvoted your products but also download the upvoters of other’s products too. But… make sure you do not misuse or spam those people on Twitter.
That’s it, you got the Product Hunt upvoters list in a nice spreadsheet format. 🥂
